We are calling for your contributions to the ALE2012 Unconference Barcelona August 29th-31st.
The Agile Lean Europe (ALE) network is a Europe-wide open network for people passionate about Agile and Lean practice and thinking. It encourages people to share knowledge and experience. ALE fosters learning and continuous improvement of the network members and the people they relate to. ALE uses its European scope to bring different perspectives of different cultures together.
The ALE 2012 unconference is a initiative that created a melting pot of Agile and Lean practitioners with many diverse perspectives and influences. It is intended as a cross-border, non-profit collaboration event for mutual learning and continuous improvement. The topics of choice, but not exclusively, this year are innovation and increased positive impact of bringing people together, in an environment that encourages improvisation and experience sharing. Inspired by the wonderful city of Barcelona, the program this year is to be spiced with unusual & innovative sessions. Moreover, the program is lead by you, so let your imagination fly and bring your creativity to the table.
The ALE Network warmly welcomes developers, testers, program managers, project managers, user experience designers, coaches, functional managers, directors, scrum masters, product owners, entrepreneurs, customers and anyone else involved in creating products or delivering services, and any other lateral thinkers willing to share their experience about people interactions. There we also value different concepts of presentation and involvement, like workshops, lean camps, code and coaching retreats, on demand open space sessions.
Among other subjects, we welcome short case studies, stories and experiences reports from industry practitioners: stories of success and failure or stories of how you applied well-known concepts like Scrum, XP and Kanban, or lesser-known concepts in IT or even other industries, and how this impacted your product or team. We are interested in all kinds of challenges in small or big, collocated or distributed agile product development regarding organization of the project, teams, productivity and leadership.
We have received some great input so far from the pre-registration process and there is a snapshot of how that looks like – just read and possibly get some inspiration.
In the spirit of the cross-border collaboration that ALE is trying to foster we would especially encourage talks from two speakers coming from or working in two different countries. You are, however, welcome to submit a talk as a single speaker.
As we expect contributions from all participants, everybody will share the conference costs by paying the same fee. We try to keep the costs as low as possible.
Please submit your abstract and short bio before June 10th 23:59 CET to the submission system we use for ALE2012 (get some information about ‘how to submit’.).
The proposals are going to be reviewed by the organizers. The accepted selection will be communicated around July 4th.
A high number of votes will result in a strong indication of preference, so it is helpful to submit early. However, the final selection will also take into account the diversity of topics and represented countries.
